About

Our story

It all started in my grandma's living room

The girl next to grandma's chair

For as long as I can remember, my grandma was stitching. A hoop on her lap, a little basket of floss at her feet, and a pattern she knew almost by heart.

I would sit next to her and watch the tiny crosses turn into flowers, houses and little animals. Before long she put a needle in my hand too, and cross stitch became something we did together, as a family.

The best part? She used to give me her finished pieces. I still have them. Every one of them is a small piece of home.

The kind of piece I grew up with: every flower stitched by hand, one little cross at a time.

What I saw online

Years later I went looking for new patterns online, and something felt off. So much of what I found was built to sell more, not to make stitching easier or nicer. Complicated charts, hard to read files, and very little of the warmth I grew up with.

Cross stitch was never about that for us. It was about sitting down, slowing down, and making something with your own hands.

Bringing the cozy back

That's why Tally Stitch exists. Our mission is simple: to bring back the simplicity and the beauty of cross stitch, the way it feels at home.

We make patterns that feel cozy and welcoming. Patterns you can stitch with your family, with a friend over tea, or on your own in your quiet moment of the day. Clear charts, exact DMC colors, nothing complicated.

What this means for you

  • Patterns that are easy to read and easy to start, even if it's your first project.
  • Designs made to be stitched at home, given as gifts and kept for years.
  • Every pattern as its own PDF, with a color chart and a black and white chart for home printers.
  • Instant download, so you can pick up your needle tonight.

And maybe, one day, you'll give your finished piece to someone you love. Just like my grandma did.
